Stoneham's Return to Whilton Mill
Next weekend, we will see Simon head off to Northampton for the upcoming WMKC round. It has been over a year since Stoneham was last at Whilton Mill - the levels of excitement are certainly high! After a rather dull and disappointing East Anglian Trophy at HKRC, Stoneham heads into this weekend determined to make amendments and improve his ever-growing skills.
The format of the weekend follows a standard structure with a full day of practice on Saturday followed by an intense day of racing on Sunday, this including three heats and a final race. Grids at Whilton Mill often exceed 40 drivers in the X30 Junior category. This will mean that there will be a split grid and therefore an A and B final. The action on Sunday will be live streamed throughout the day as Stoneham will be up at the tight end competing for a great result.
Stoneham goes into the weekend with high hopes alongsideaims of displaying his talent at one of the best tracks in the UK against some of the top drivers in the world. Like always, Simon is under the management of Jack Dex and feels that this will give him the support needed to have a particularly productive weekend. GCSE exams now over and done with, out of the way, Simon can now focus all of his attention on his racing.
“It is going to be great to get back to this incredible circuit. I started my racing career here and it is always wonderful to return. I feel as though this weekend provides a great opportunity for me to show exactly what I am made of against those considered to be the best. My confidence is high. Finally, now that all of my exams are done, my focus is on my racing and pushing towards my career. It is a great shame that I cannot race at Whilton Mill more due to financial restrictions, hence I am continuously pursuing sponsorship. I quite simply cannot wait for this weekend and it is going to be smashing. Whilton always provides great yet tough racing and i can’t wait to get stuck into the action. I would like to thank JDR, MSKart and my family for all of the support. Onto a great weekend!”
